Looking for Mailing List alternative

  • I have been looking into alternatives to my current mailing list service when I reached the following conclusion: I do not want to manage a separate mailing list. I do not want to generate a monthly newsletter, based on articles that I have posted. What I really want is for my readership to be notified when I post an article to my website. That sounds like an RSS feed, but from what I have gathered, I have no control whatsoever over RSS subscribers.

    I seek a hybrid: I want a subscription list that I own and I want my subscribers to be sent articles when I publish them (or at their option, a monthly digest).

    So what exactly am I looking for? Who might be able to steer me in a good direction? Many thanks.
