Looking for best ways to achieve design goals
-
I’m new to WordPress and Woocommerce and I’m building a store (with Storefront) for an owner with very specific design goals. The site he most wants to emulate is this one: https://www.hlj.com/top/Aut
The specific elements are:
Background images that are easy to change (he’s not technical).
Category tree on the left, separate background from the main one.
Products (or text) in the middle, also with separate background.
Reduce the height of the header.
And for the kicker, the ability to change display views like this (tiles, grid, list): https://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?ItemGroup=MFH917LH71The replaceable background image is easy to do, I’ve got that one.
Not sure about the backgrounds for the category list and products/text body.
I assume the header height can be adjusted but haven’t found a way yet. :/
No clue for the separate display views!I’ve reviewed many extensions, plug-ins, and child themes. Looks like a combination will achieve most of his goals (there are functions that he needs that I’m not covering here) but I want to keep the purchase of add-ons at a minimum if I can. What are the best/fewest ways to meet the owner’s design goals?
