When dealing with images I’m using IImage browser – the reason is I needed to seperate my directories due to the large volume of images. So the structure is as follows:
Main: Covers
Sub: Film
Sub: Games
Sub: Music
Sub: Books
Main: Screenshots
Sub: Games
Sub: Film
I can see a similar system being required for things like movie files and music files, simply because organisation is very important for large amounts of files and sticking them all in one folder willy nilly is just a horrible experience. Each folder is representing a category by that example, and all of those reside within the root folder I created called images. Just makes the whole experience a lot more user friendly.
I guess that’s what he’s after but for media related files rather than image,s but he hasn’t specified the reason for this as you state. Once that’s explained perhaps it can be built upon ??
