• Since March I’ve been having a good try with the Shopp plugin. It simply isn’t working out. With their recent upgrade it doesn’t function at all and I’m heartsick over it. Lots of lost time and effort not to mention money in the purchase of the plugin.

I really want to keep my store and blog connected as one since the blog is much easier to manage in SEO efforts – so much more versatile for the non-programmer.

Really all I’m hoping to accomplish is having the blog and the store on the same domain, ideally using WordPress for the blog. I really would like to have a cart option that allows product import from spreadsheet and quite a few other bells and whistles aimed at speeding things up.

Tons of shopping carts out there, I’m looking for some recommendations from experience. I have virtually no money to invest in this…looking to the sale of product to support what I spend on it which was working out until I installed Shopp (moved from Prostores site).

Any suggestions? I host with Hostgator and am happy there. Would it be possible to install a website and put wordpress on a subdomain of the site? I only have a fleeting understanding of this kind of setup.

    Thanks,
    Lisa I.

I took Shopp off my site and have switched to Shopify (installed it on a subdomain of the my WordPress blog site. This is working much better for the non-developer like me who is just looking for a means to an end, not to spend all of their time trying to fix something or entering products (no means to import them into Shopp). For what you would pay to have Shopp customized, and the hours and hours to load products you might as well use something like Shopify – much easier on the wallet.

Maybe I’ll revisit shopp down the line if they perk it up quite a bit but leaving it alone for now.
