• after all these years and more than a thousand downloadable links, down mon has proven that it is not to be trusted and that it costs money to even take a step.
bad updates not only destroyed existing features but also started asking for money to get some of them back. for sites with an amateur spirit, with no economic model and no financial return, it makes no sense to use this plugin. after all these years, whether to look for another plugin or write my own plugin, I need some time.

@archivisttr-1 – You seem to have a good understanding of business models and revenue generation. While your business (hobby) might not have the need of a financial model, ours does. Less than 10% of Download Monitor’s user base is a paying one and that 10% pays for the entire development & support of the plugin.

Saying “we can not be trusted” is a serious accusation.

I am aware tha we didn’t roll out the perfect update – and I’m sorry for that. Then again, this is open source software that’s being offered for free.

My intention wasn’t to be harsh but to bring a different perspective.

All the best and I really hope u will land with a better plugin or one that you will build yourself.

    Much love,
    Cristian.

    I strongly agree with archivist.tr.

I don’t understand why you have to try to squeeze out money out of a project which doesn’t have enough potential to be supported by paid features.

@optimiertes @archivisttr-1 I agree with both of you. I think a different approach is needed.
