Plugin to display some posts seperately

I am looking for a specific plugin, but by using Google I haven’t been able to find something. On my blog I post articles, but besides that I would like to be able to post short messages like tweets. I don’t want to post them through the same as the regular articles, because I want them to be displayed seperately. These short messages are comparable to tweets, but I want to post them directly on my blog and not through Twitter. Preferably it would show the most recent messages with the date + time. Is there a plugin that could do this? Or another way to make this work without using the regular posts? Thanks in advance!
