• Hi all,

We have a WordPress site for an online box office. On our first day of sales we have 200+ users to our site and we constantly receive the “Resource Limit Reached” error. Short of finding a better hosting provider I’m wondering if there is a plugin that will only allow a certain amount of users in at one time and queue the rest.

    Think Ticketmaster.

Anyone have any clue of want to take up a plugin challenge? the

    Ta!

The issue is that the resource is a server-level thing, so it happens in the stack way above WordPress. I don’t think this can be solved with a plugin. Think Ticketmaster — yeah, they’re running their own servers and have the ability to spin up extra servers to cope with traffic spikes. You need to find hosting that can flexibly and automatically scale up as necessasry.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. At present all our users are being held on a “Countdown” page via the plugin launchpad. When the countdown hits 0 is when we have the issue 200+ people hitting the server at once. Once people start to refresh pages and work their way through the site it becomes pretty stable as everyone isn’t hitting the site at once. This is the issue I’m facing.

    Thanks,
    Chris
