• Hi! I did a search to try and find the info I need, but can’t seem to turn it up… Basically, somewhere amongst the advice pages and forums I once saw some info on how to add a bit of text on the commenting area, warning folks who are going to post comments that they might not show up straight away due to them being moderated. I wonder if someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction or perhaps tell me how to do this? I am brand new to WordPress, so forgive me if this seems a v. basic question.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    All the best

    Wendy

  • If you post a link then you’ll probably get some specific advice.

I would edit my comments template. Of course, that depends on whatever theme you’re using. Mine is called “comments.php”.

but yeah, a link would be helpful…

Thanks ever so much for that, guys! But I haven’t set up for comments yet. In fact I’m only investigating WordPress ‘theoretically’ so far…

But I’ll remember to post a link when I actually get stuck in!

    Cheers

When I set up my WordPress blog, I created two pages — one about me, and one about the rules of posting. In that page, which I titled, “Please Read Before You Post”, among other things, I warned about comments not appearing at first due to moderation.

To set up a page, go to the dashboard, click on the tab at the top of the page called “Write”, and there will be a link where you can create a page. Any page that you create will be visible near the header.
