• i’ve been digging around and looking at various plugins, but the majority of WP mailing plugins are one way mailing lists. I would like to create a mailing group, like google groups/yahoo groups/wiggio or old-school listserv where I can set up 1 email address and any of my site’s users can email the whole list, but emails from outside/non-user addresses are rejected.

is there a way to integrate listserv capabilities with my WordPress users list? i would like the user list to be linked so that i can use one of the membership plugins to track/manage who has paid their membership dues.

mailpress and email users can be rigged (via modifying capabilities) to allow users to send emails, but i don’t want them to have to log in. my members aren’t tech savvy and i don’t want to try teaching them how to do things this way. but i also don’t want to have to manage 2 separate lists, ie: my google groups list and my WP membership.

    anybody have any ideas?

ashish, no i never found anything.

i really liked: wiggio.com for their group services, but they don’t yet have an API. they say they’re working on it, but there’s no firm date on its release.

fiesta.cc does have an API, but I never dug into using it.

sorry… but maybe you’ll come up with something awesome!

I’m on a similar quest. I found an interesting thread that re-thinks how to approach this, here:

    Thoughts?

Yes, looks interesting but lots of work. Also, it is hard to get it working on a shared host. I finally went ahead with DADA Mail, a non-Wordpress solution. Although not 100% foolproof but solved the listserv issue. It uses MySQL as the database and lets you create RSS feeds for the archives. So, good potential for integration with WordPress.

i gave up on this. i’m trying to get my group to wiggio, but heck, they’re still using regular copy/paste email addresses!
