Looking for a gallery

    Hey everyone, I’ve lurked and searched for answers here a few times before. Unfortunately I’ve hit a wall that no amount of googling has been able to conquer ??

    I’m looking for a very specific style of gallery for my design portfolio that I am making. The way I want it to work is as follows –

    The page will show a gallery of images. Lets say each image is a number: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
    If you click on Image 1, I want the image to expand or open up into a kind of lightbox. (I don’t know the right terminology for this, as “expand” on google searches only brings up bigger images).

    In this new lightbox/popup/whatever, the user would see the enlarged original image, a block of text with a title, and I also want a little carousel of other thumbnails that can be clicked on. These are NOT images from the original gallery though, but it’s own seperate set of images (lets call them 1A, 1B, 1C).

    So original gallery is a set of images (which would be my main projects page), 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5 etc. And when you click on image 1, it pops open to show 1+Text, and a carousel that lets you change the image to 1A, 1B, 1C (which would be the prototypes from the project, to show how I progressed to the final solution).

    See what I mean? Now that would be ideal, it’s basically perfect… EXCEPT it only allows for jpg and png images, and I also do animations. SO I basically need a similar style as that, but with video/youtube/vimeo support as well.

    I like the way it pushes the gallery items around as it opens, but thats not necessary, a lightbox version would be fine too. I’ve looked at dozens of different gallery/portfolio/lightbox plugins though and I can’t find anything. I only found Elastic last night at like 4am, and only realised today that it doesn’t do video ??

    Please, if anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d be very grateful. Even if it is just the right terminology for an expanding/opening of gallery items into mini-sub-galleries, or how to split a lightbox into sections so that an image is on one side and text etc can be added to the other…

    If you want it to be like that commercial plugin, why would you not just purchase it?

    Because it isn’t compatible with videos… like I said. In the very first line, and again in the post.

    And I need it to be compatible with videos.
