Looking for a Arrival/Departures plugin/theme

  • I’ve placed this question in this area of the forums since it might not be a plug-in I’m looking for, but maybe something else?

    We’ll see I guess.

    I’m looking for a plug-in (or method) to create an arrival/departures database based on information fed to the database by a .csv file or other type of spreadsheet. Like an information board or arrivals/departures kiosk you might see at the airport. Updating throughout the day automatically/live is key.

    I’m currently using TablePress to create tables, but they aren’t very dynamic. What I’m hoping to do is rotate through items in the database based on a time criteria. For instance, row 2 column A and B display at 6:00am… and continue to schedule instances throughout the day automatically.

    Also, it would be an added plus if it generated something that looked pretty, though this isn’t that important as I could just fix that through CSS, but heck, why not.

    I’m sure this is possible through programming it yourself, but my knowledge here is pretty limited, I’m a graphic designer and I prefer my triangles.

    A plugin could do this, it could also be done in a page template, it will require a degree of programming. The live page self refreshing aspect will require javascript.
    It would be simplest if the schedule was substantially fixed, if you did not have to update for delays etc. If you do need to track events live, then you will need a javascript technique called AJAX.
    I would suggest that you partner with a code type person unless you can find a plugin or theme etc or other solution that closely matches your needs.
