I’m the guy who has spent 3 years of his life working on this plugin. It started out without a PRO version, because I developed the plugin only for me, on a site where I needed to provide support tickets. Eventually, in 2012 I released it for the community here on www.remarpro.com because I thought others might find it useful. In 2013, my full time job was once again doing game development, and I had no need or desire for a support ticket plugin anymore. However, many people found the support ticket plugin useful, and I didn’t want to kill the project. So what I did was I looked at all the feature requests that were out at the time, and I coded those feature requests into what would become the PRO version. There were only 2 releases of the PRO version, and in the year since then, there have been around 75 new releases of the free and open source version. In the year since the PRO was released, there have been 3 new features added to PRO, while there have been 17 new features in the open source version.
Can’t afford $20? No problem, I can work within any budget. I also barter and trade. Student discount? No problem. Need PRO for a charity website, take it for free.
So with a 3 paragraph response to a 0 paragraph review, I say to you kind person, what can I do to earn a better review from you? If you’re going to say give your PRO version away for free and make it open source, well to that I also say yes… but just not yet. The extra money I get right now puts a little food in my mouth and helps keep this roof over my family’s head while I continue to plod through year 2 of full time game development. Once my game is out, the PRO version will merge with the free version and development will continue. But yeah, what can I do to earn a better review from you?
