Relatively easy, but time consuming as it has to be written into the program and then tested. Then the documentation has to be updated. I can’t get to it right away, but I can try to fit it into the next update.

    My thought:

Rather than word count, can a code flag the end of each extract?

This way the admin can control the exact length of individual extracts.

Meantime, can’t I just change your word count in the code?

Flagging the end would be too complex and could be problematic.

I forgot that I had removed the excerpt length quite a few versions back. It now uses the default WP excerpt length. I really do not want to add it back, so that QAFP excerpts will always match post excerpts.

You can change the length by adding code to your theme’s functions.php file if there is not a setting in your theme. The code that you would add depends on the theme itself and it is difficult to get it to work sometimes. There is a plugin that is supposed to help you change the length, but it may not work with all themes. WordPress does not offer much excerpt flexibility IMO.

    Thanks!

Installed Advanced Excerpt Options plug-in. Works like a charm for me.

    Thanks for your awesome plug-in!
