long url in email addresses not working

  • My email address is made up of 5 characters in the local part and 23 in the url part. Example: [email protected]

    WordPress is not sending notifications to this email address. If I replace it with a shorter email address and then set up an auto redirect from the short email address to [email protected] then they come through.

    The max length for an email address by RFC2821 & RFC2822 standards is local-part total length of a user name or other local-part is 64 characters, and domain The maximum total length of a domain name or number is 255 characters.
