    Hi,

I’ve been using your TablePress plugin for some time and it seemed to work very well. It’s a very good plugin to easily build complete useful tables, with image links, import/export, etc.

However, in the last weeks, it does not work with long or large tables, i.e. with a lot of rows. It is impossible to manipulate that kind of tables, to add, to change, or even not possible any commun parameter of the general table settings. It is even not possible to get access to that kind of tables. It’s very exasperating.

The browser states that unconvenient advice of “A website is slowing your browser. Stop it or wait?” (tested with Firefox and Chrome) and the requested table never shows up.

    Thanks for your support.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Yes, unfortunately, the “Edit” screen can get slow with many rows, but unfortunately, I don’t yet have a solution. ?? I’m already working on a completely rewritten “Edit” screen that will also be faster. In the meantime, my suggestion would be to edit/maintain the table offline, e.g. in Excel, and then re-import a saved CSV file into TablePress, replacing the existing version of the table. Sorry for not having better news here.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi, Tobias,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

We are impatiently waiting for your new version! Except for that, your Table Press works great!

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

thanks for the kind words! Note that it might still take some time until the new version is ready, so I recommend to use the workaround suggestion until then.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias

Seasons Greetings and hope you have had an enjoyable festive season…

I too am experiencing the above problem. I have 1940 rows in my table and am not overly confident about exporting and re-importing to the table. If your update is something that will be coming fairly soon (a month or so) then I would wait.

I’m not trying to pin you down to a deadline, but if it is a few months away then I
I will have to be brave and update it myself.

    Thanks
    Bob

    Hi Bob,

unfortunately, the update will likely take longer than that month, as I’m very busy at the moment with other things (Germany is currently in a Covid lockdown). Once I can start working on this again, heavy development and testing will still be needed.
I’d therefore suggest to move forward with the export/import way for now. It’s really not difficult!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias

Decided to bite the bullet and export/import. As you say, it’s not really difficult, I suppose just wary of how it might interact with the original table.

On a positive note, once I had imported the new data the table then started to respond and is working fine? Curious…

As always thank you for the support…

Stay safe and well and all the very best for 2021

    Best regards
    Bob

    Hi Bob,

that sounds a bit strange. Are you sure that the new table is the same size?

Best wishes and all the best for the New Year!
    Tobias
