• Hey all, I’ve had this problem for a while on multiple wordpress sites, figured I’d ask to see if anybody else does.

When I post or update a post, the icon turns into an hourglass and then… hangs. (Sometimes it goes through and gives me a successful message, but most of the time it just hangs.)

At this point, usually the post itself is updated — meaning the new content is live — but still, the page that I clicked “update” on is just sitting there, like the sands of time.

It would appear that wordpress is having a problem confirming with the database, or something? Any ideas would be much appreciated. peace!

  • Under Admin->Options->Writing, what websites are listed in the Update Services box? If you have lots of them or defunct ones, WP will take a time to notify them all about your updated posts.

So keep this list to the minimum to speed up posting.

Even having just one, I have this problem too:
    https://rpc.pingomatic.com/ <– that’s the only entry I’ve got.
