Erik,
Thank you for your message.
Ultimately, this is a design choice, but it’s definitely behaving as expected.
I don’t know what other system you are using that chooses to do this differently, but it’s important to tell you that logging out of WordPress will not log you out of your Google account as well. So in that sense, there is no ‘Google login page’ we could really send you too – since you are still likely to be logged into Google anyway!
Also note that most people will have exactly one Google account, and for them there may be no steps in the ‘Google login flow’ – as soon as they click Login with Google on the WordPress login page, they will be logged into WordPress straight away.
In the premium version of the plugin, there is an additional option to force logout from your Google account(s) whenever you logout of WordPress. Note in that case, you will still return to the WordPress login page at the end of it all, ready to click Login with Google when you want to get back in.
I think that if there was a way to leave all users on a Google login page after they logout of WordPress, that could be a bit confusing. Coming back to it after a while, it looks like they are just logging into Google – but they would actually go straight into WordPress.
I hope this explains our thinking here, but I really appreciate your thoughts too. If you have any clarification, it might be easiest to continue the discussion over email – [email protected]
Thanks,
Dan
