    I am getting this error with my blog: Logout hook ERROR: 400 Client Error: Bad Request!

    Today I did some changes with my blog;

    1) I deleted .maintenance file which was showing “Briefly Unavailable for Scheduled Maintenance” error while after updating some plugins.

    2) I Increased PHP Memory through wp-config.php file.

    Which one of these are causing the Logout hook error?

    Thanks!

    Hello adithyah,

    The 400 Bad Request error means that something on your web server or with your hosting environment such as a web application firewall, reverse proxy restriction, or plugin firewall is blocking the POST request from the Clef server (see details here).

    Based on your description I think the maintenance file might indicate you had your site in maintenance mode for a bit recently. Some maintenance mode plugins can block the logout hook pings and return the 400 error code.

    If your site is now out of maintenance mode, and assuming you are finished updating everything, if the Clef logout is still not working, can you send a note to [email protected] with the URL of your site for follow up?

    Also, you can test your login hook from the Clef user dashboard. If you see any error codes returned, you can check this guide for suggested fixes.
