• I have several WP installations and on most of them the toolbar shows a number of “buttons” including a Logout button (which I have found to be very helpful). However, on two of my WP installs the Logout button is missing. Where has it gone? How can I add it to the toolbar?

BTW, this is not a critical issue…mostly a curiosity.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thanks, I will try these and report back.

The first step of deactivating and re-activating worked for one of the installations but not the other. Both, interestingly enough, were using a YouTube plugin which I suspect is the bad boy. This plugin is no longer necessary given the new HTML5 capabilities of WP v 3.6. So I deleted the plugin completely. Thanks again.
