• Hi,

So I’ve uploaded a logo and it looks blurry on some PCs.

On a mac it renders beautifully but on most PCs, barring the most expensive, it looks blurry.

The image quality is fine (must be because it looks fine on a mac and an expensive laptop (generally)

But in most Windows laptops and PCs it looks blurry.

    Please advise.

    Kind regards,

    Nico

Can you be more specific as to where this blurry logo is? Is it on your page somewhere?

Ok, so this is the original:

    https://adsler.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/PSX_20190124_124806-1.jpg

And this is the scaled down version that is showing:

And it’s actually showing in a much smaller space for it than the size of the image is.

So, which one looks blurry to you? Because all the versions there look pretty okay to me.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

The one that is showing looks blurry to me, a bit, but on the website it looks much worse.

I was wondering whether perhaps the image size is too big and the pixel area too small?

When I scale it up on a pc, using zoom, it looks better than it does when small.
It depends which pc you’re looking at it with, cheaper ones tend to render worse quality but on mac still not perfect.

Could this be it, perhaps. That the image is too big for the small size of the logo, in the context of the pixels offered to render that logo on some machines.

Now, however, I am stuck with catch 22. I want it to be vector scalable, but have an image that size won’t render properly as it’s too big.

    Thanks,

If you have a vector version available, save it as an SVG and replace the image with that SVG. Those work in nearly all modern browsers, and will be clear at any size.

    Hi.

So I tried a vector image but, when I tried to scale it to size (image size) not pixel size, WordPress admin wouldn’t let me.

Then I tried to make the pixel size smaller in a separate app, uploaded, but when I tried to make image size smaller, (not pixel size), for design reasons, it put it in a box and cut off both ends (only the middle of the logo was showing)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Now, anything below 151 width 91 height, it puts the logo in a square box, chops off the ends, and displays it.

Is this a css error /fixable?

So basically I’m stuck back where I started.

Image looks fine on mobile, even excellent on some mobiles, mediocre on mac, bad on most PCs.

    Stumped.

The image as it is is not blurry. I can’t help you with what I cannot see. It’s just a plain image.

Maybe don’t use a blurry image? Or figure out why you think it’s blurry on some PCs, when it’s fine here on Windows with Chrome. I dunno what the issue you have actually even is, so, sorry. Can’t help.

    Hi,

    No problem.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look into the matter.
