• Hey there:

Possible to change the site title and tag line for a nice logo that will resize properly if the browser shrinks in size?

    Thanks

Absolutely….this might give you a starting point:

    Wow .. can’t believe I missed that ??

Particular size to make it so it does not get degraded in quality when I use it? Lettering seems to get a bit choppy. Made it 300 x 250px, perhaps larger would work better when it is sized down?

Text in an image is hard to maintain 100% quality when resizing either up or down, so it’s going to be more of playing around with different sizes. You might want to make it closer to the size it will be near the smallest size it becomes.

Update: One more note about sizing with text in an image…size of text will also play a big part in maintaining as much quality as possible. Also try not to over optimize a logo; best to keep it it close to max quality.

    This might help too:

I’m also having trouble with the pixilation of my site’s logo. It looks fine when viewing it from my files, and on my computer’s photo viewing app at full screen. The dimensions of it are 300×309 and it’s saved as a .png file. The image looks fine until I save and publish it. The image looks ok, but is clearly a little blurry. Zooming in on the image it’s obviously distorted and pixilated. I read the above article, but it didn’t really solve my problems. Any other suggestions? And what do you mean by over optimizing an image?

@erinlinder and @klegger …this theme does not have any image manipulation features/functions built into it except for cropping. Unfortunately, because this part is not really related to theme support the best thing I can suggest is to search google for tutorials about “image quality web use”; there are a ton of them to help out.

Another source is direct from WordPress you can also check out:
