• Hi

Tried to search forums for this problem, but didnt find anyything. Hope someone can give me a pointer as to what I looking for.

Something is trying to login into my wordpress site. The IP address is my own, so it would appear something from my own site is trying to login as admin – a user that doesnt exist.

I am using the limit logins plugin, and this effectively locks me out for periods of time. I can fix it by using phpadmin and deleting the lock value, but would prefer to find the problem / cause.

Anyone got any ideas as to how to find it?

    thank you

  • Do two things – first tell your web hosting about it and also check your site at sucuri.net This is an online tool that tells you whether you have malware on site or if it has been hacked.

Hi, thanks for this. Realised I didnt include what I have done so far.
Scanned using securi.net – no problems
ISP, has looked, and said well it is coming from your site
I got a debug plugin and checked the wordpress crontab
Thought it was one of the plguins, but proved it wasnt.

Have changed themes, due to twentyten breaking while looking for this problem.
