login.php causes Router blackout

    Hi – I run several instances of wordpress across several hosts. Currently if I attempt to access ../wp-admin or ../wp-login.php of my wordpress instances hosted at one of my servers my Router disconnects. My support ticket at that hosting company has expired – they have advised me to contact my ISP – from which I await a response. I CAN access the dashboard of these instances using a proxy. This issue is common across IE/MZFirefox/Safari/Chrome and Opera, all of which have been cleared of cookies/cache and checked – anybody have any ideas?

    What is the router make and model? Check for a possible firmware update. It is very rare, but it could be a peculiar byte sequence or even a byte length resulting in a very odd buffer overflow. Flaws like these are very very rare but they can and do happen.

    Hi Steve – Glad you pointed that out – I have a BT Business Hub 2700HGV. Firmware 6.3.9.63-plus.tm – which (according to a Forum Post at Business BT – Forum – has been updated remotely! BT have not replied to my Ticket as yet so that may prove critical – Thanks again – I’ll post the news from BT

    BT – Are sending out a new (not-regraded with the latest Firmware) to see if that will cure the issue – I’ll keep you posted.
