Loginout not working?

Hi,

I am trying to set up a new template to work with my blog, however the Meta “loginout” function at the bottom of the page is not working. I had wp-united installed on my forum, but then I deleted it, so everything should be working fine.

Here is my problem: When I login, using the login link in the footer, I can login, however when I go back to the main page, it doesn’t say Logout [Admin] it just says [Login]. If I click the Login Link, it takes me to the admin page. How do I get this to work properly? Or is this how it’s supposed to work?
