Login Type doesn’t change behavior for Lost Password

When I change login type option to “E-mail only”, it changes the heading of the input field on the lost password page to “E-mail”, but the yellow notice box still says “Please enter your username or email address.” and the input field accepts (and works) with both username/email address. It’s not limiting it to e-mail only.

Ideally, I would like the option to change the lost password to “E-mail only” while allowing the Login Type to be “Username or E-mail”. We have about 35,000 members, many with similar names/usernames. Restricting them to the “E-mail only” for password resets would eliminate false resets from those mistyping their usernames while allowing the flexibility of the login to receive both options.
