I owned this domain, and hosted it through Unlimited Web Hosting, creating the page in WordPress with a Prophoto theme. I missed a renewal notice and it was taken on by somebody else (weirdly, as the new site has no link at all to the web address name). I can’t access WordPress for the site anymore, login details are incorrect and when I try to reset password it says my email address or username are incorrect. So I’ve now lost the whole site and the Prophoto theme. What can be done?

Hi, alexfletcher777, I would recommend reaching out to your web hosting company to regain access to the site.

Hi, I tried but the domain name is now owned by someone else and there’s nothing they can do

It looks like your domain was deleted on the 29th of September, 2021… and purchased by someone else two months later, on the 29th of November 2021.

So you don’t own the domain any longer, and there’s nothing you or your host can do about that (unless you want to approach the current owner with a purchase offer.)

But your WordPress site (files and database) was with your hosting company. Do you still have access to these in your hosting account? If not, contact your host to see if they have a backup they can restore for you.

Once you have access to the WordPress site’s files and database, you can purchase a new domain name and follow the link below to change your site’s address to the new domain name.

If you don’t have the website’s files at all, then I’m afraid, you’ve lost the site for good, your only choice left is to start over from scratch.
