• Hello,

    I am having difficulty getting the “login to comment” text & link appear above the comment box on my wordpress site. My settings are as follows:

    Settings/General: Anyone can register is checked
    Settings/Discussion: User must be registered & logged in to comment is checked

    Theme = 2010
    URL = https://flyguys.net/fishing-reports/ice-off-2014-fishing-reports

    When logged in it appears that all is correct as there is log out text (and link) above the comment box.

    When logged out however it does not display “login to comment” above the comment box but instead acts like it does when the “comment author must fill out name and email” setting is checked by displaying name, email address and website fields above he comment box. And then when the user fills in those fields, enters a comment and submits it takes them to another page which says “sorry you must be logged in to comment” (and then they subsequently lose the comment they left).

    I want to force users to log in to comment but BEFORE they comment not after as this just wastes their time and I doubt that after taking the time to fill out their name/email address and comment, and then lose it all, will go back log in and do it all again.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    K
