Login takes me nowhere

  • I am new to WordPress and new to web coding. Just trying to get through this slowly- but surely. I am having difficulty logging into Word Press. After the installation- when they give me my temp password- I am re-routed back to the original screen. Where I input the blog name and my email.

    I have no idea what’s going on. Every single line of script on the long way down to the bottom of the install screen reads (command denied to user’xxxxxxx’) I think that may be wrong.

    I need help here. I’m useless with numbers.

    I installed WordPress. Then I entered the proper directory into the url. It brings me to a setup page: Name of Blog, email address. Then I click install. A bunch of script is generated. I scroll to the bottom. There is an info dialogue box with what I assume is a temp login and smart password. I click login below. I am re-routed directly back to the setup page- as if I have done nothing. It’s pretty frustrating.

    Maybe there’s something wrong in the code. I have no idea. I barely understand what WordPress is- except that it is easier than coding a site from the bottom up.
    Any help would be appreciated.
