• After I used the plugin Duplicator to make a backup of my live site on to another url (my dev site), I found that wordfence login security no longer works on my live site. It is working on my dev site.

    I tried clearing all the Wordfence data on my live site by ticking the options box and then disabling the Wordfence plugin and then re-enabling. So now I have a new API but the login security on my live site is still not working.

    Can you suggest what to try next please?

  • Hi,

    You may want to try removing Wordfence and table data completely and doing a reinstall of Wordfence. That will get you new database tables. If you want to restore settings to the live site, you could export them from your backup domain.

    I don’t need to store the settings but I’m not sure how to remove the database table. Will that be removed if I delete Wordfence via my site’s dashboard?

    Also I have noticed that it is taking me a long time to get logged in to the site. About 10 secs rather than a couple of secs.

    Update. As I said in my first post I ticked the ‘Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation?’ box when I disabled Wordfence. When I reactivated Wordfence it treated it as a fresh install and gave me a new API code. Are you saying there is another step I should take to try and get a completely new install?

    Hi Brian

    Any chance of further advice re my last post please?

    All of the Top 5IP’s, Countries, Failed Logins are all showing, ‘We’re collecting data, check back soon’ This is after 4 days of getting a new API code.

    Log in security is still not working.

    Firewall still in learning mode.

    Live traffic and scan seem to be working.

    Very concerned about lack of Log in security.
