• Hi All,

My first post (and sure that it won’t be my last !!)

I’ve had WordPress installed by my host provider (Easyspace) just before Xmas. It was not an easy install, but in the edn things seemed to be OK (I could access wordpress)

However this only lasted a few days, ans I started to find my way around, I was tempted to try and publish a very simple blog page (which is all I’m after) https://www.bedsandhertsfuchsiasociety.co.uk/wordpress

I seemed to have done this (although not to my liking at all) Trouble is, I can no longer get to the wordpress login screen, to login, and make any changes. All I get is a white screen. I’m sure it’s me, I have made a change somewhere, but I’m damned if I know what or where.

Please help me get back to the wordpress login screen (as a starter)

    Many Thanks

    Paul

The “W” is uppercase, but all I have done is cut and paste, so there are no descrepencies, however, I will change all to lower case, just to avoid confusion in future.

On closer inspection, I did find that WP-config.php is located in the wordpress folder too, if that helps ?

Thanks for this help folks, I do appreciate it.

One point I’ve spotted, it seems as if the “Blog” is in the wordpress “folder” when I wanted it in the “Blog” folder, is there something pointing wordpress in the Blogfolder, when it should be in the wordpress folder ?

    Thanks again.

if you want it to be site.com/wordpress/ you put all your files in a folder titled “wordpress” and update your db to site.com/wordpress

if you want it to be site.com/blog you would put your wordpress files in a folder titled “blog” and then update your db to site.com/blog

You’re basically putting your files where you want them to display and then telling your database where those files are located.

    Bingo !!!!!!

Thanks folks, it was the “upper / lower case” issue.

I can now see the wordpress login screen again (and login)

    Very many thanks, once again.

I’m sure this wont be the last “problem” I have, but it sure has helped my confidence that there are people out there, willing to help.

    Once again, many thaks.

    Paul
