• Hi, I’m new to the plugin and testing it out on my site. After setting up the base plugin, then login and registration, when I try to login using my FB account, it takes me to my WP registration window. (It does the same thing with Janrain Engage plugin which I’m also testing but I’d prefer your’s because of the publishing plugin.) I get the feeling its something fundamental in my WP admin setup. Any ideas?

. . . so back to my login question ;-), works for me but not wife (test user). She gets the WP registration page. Her user email is the same as her FB email, so that’s not the problem. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

. . . was I not supposed to set up an FB app for it?

You do need an FB App for your website. That’s not the problem.

I can’t answer your question of why it works for you and not for your wife. Obviously, something is different between your two accounts.

I don’t have magic powers and I can’t pull answers out of thin air. Sorry.

Otto, sorry for confusing your tech wizardry with magic powers. Your tech wizardry seems like magic to us non-techs. ?? Is there a tutorial, FAQ, or thread where I can review the set up of the FB app? Your installation instructions and setup contain a link to an FB page which doesn’t contain anything that I can see related to the plugin (probably an FB change?). I set up the app in the developers.facebook page, but want to make sure I did it right.

The setup for that now is pretty much as basic as possible. There’s only two settings on the developer app (which is indeed the correct place to do it), and those are Site URL and Site Domain.

Basically, because you say it worked for you, then that means it works, period. As for why it’s not working for your wife’s account, I can’t tell you because I don’t really know. The email matching has worked on all accounts I’ve tried it with.

And regardless, you can still make it work manually. Just login to WP as your wife, not using Facebook, then go to Users->Your Profile and manually connect your wife’s Facebook account to the WP user. Then it’ll work. Every time.

Ozzm! Thank Otto! Can’t wait to start using the plugin! Will definitely make a donation when I implement it on my site. This is a free premium plugin!
