• Author is already informed and recommends NOT to use the plugin 0.8.7 on WP 3.9.1 due to necessary updates.
    Problem:
For a one week everything was fine.
Suddenly nobody is able to log on because after clicking the login button the message
“An attempt to bypass security checks was detected! Please go back to the login form, refresh the page, and try again.”
    is displayed.
Only way to login in is to rename the plugin folder via ftp to get to the default wp login activated.
The default login works fine. It’s definetely related to the plugin as I can reproduce the error activating it again.
I found some forum entries related to combination with WP Cache Plugins but I don’t use one yet.

  • Yes, s8 could do with some updates, but what you have reported here doesn’t actually prove that your problem is caused by s8 itself. You also haven’t said whether you are logging in using the widget or by some other method, which is important for other users to know before they (we) can decide whether to continue using s8.

Have you tried deactivating all other plugins, and then seeing if you can login successfully with s8? If you can, you have a plugin conflict between s8 and another plugin, and the problem will go away if you deactivate that other plugin instead of s8.

This is important to know because (a) if you have a plugin conflict, the developer of the other plugin would presumably also like to know, (b) the s8 developers can more easily track down where any problem with s8 might be, and (c) if s8 is more important to you than the other plugin, you can then keep s8 turned on.

Finally, you might find that, if all you want from s8 is that it themes your login page, then you might still be able to use it if you use a different plugin to handle the login/logout process.
