    Hallo,

    – After my new registers made an account. They first of all receive their email in the “spam”box of their emailbox. I like to sent it to the mainbox.

    – After they created the account, they fail to login. It says: An unknown error occurred. Please try again later. It does not work?

  • I can help with your spam issue, as i had it as well. This is not a pluginsware problem, it is your mail settings that are the issue.

    What you need to do is contact your hosting company and tell them to…

    1. Set you up with an ssl certificate for your domain (should be free and easy).

    2. Tell them to set the configurations that stop google thinking it is spam. (Again, they know the settings, but these are not automatically applied to your hosting plan, you have to request them. Free to you and easy for them to do.)

    3. Use an SMTP server to send your mail.

    a) If your mail is sent as [email protected], you need to change that to [email protected].

    This can be done in your settings in wordpress admin dashboard under Settings>General.

    b) Get an SMTP plugin that will send emails for you rather than using wordpress. It makes sure emails get sent instantly (when user signs up, changes passwords etc, and helps google with spam)

    Check the plugin repository for “SMTP” plugins. Choose your favourite. Then you want to configure the plugin to work with gmail. You can use other services like “Send Grid” to send your mail but they make you sign up with plans and generally make a simple task hard. Gmail makes it quick and easy and free. Instructions will be a link from the plugins settings page.

    To add to the above. if your hosting company does not give free ssl certificates, then get the “really simple ssl” plugin.
