login: Problem when user already has account with same email

Hi,
Thank you for the great plugin.Case of a user who already has an account on my site, created in the standard way (form).
This user tries to register with FB, but without giving access to his email (I tried with FB).
When back on my website he sees the modal form asking for his email (I set it to be required). If he uses the same email already present in the WP database, he receives the error message (email already in use).And here lies the problem: at this point I would expect the plugin to (1) verify the email (verification is set as required) and then (2) associate the social profile of the user with his already existing account.
Unfortunately this doesn’t happen, the process stops and the user can’t login,
