    Hi,
I am facing a peculiar problem. My site is an online teaching site where user has to register and login to get access to the course contents and other facilities. But the same login id and password is not working with Awesome Support.
I am using the free version. Can somebody help me with this?
    Regards

    Hi:

You should see a screen similar to this on your user role editor plugin:

    10.08.2018-23.34

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As you guided me I assigned you five roles through user role editor.
The default user role in my word press admin is student.
The problem that I am facing is when a new user registers, he is assigned student role by default.
But the additional role as a support user is not assigned to the new user automatically.
Whenever a new user registers, I have to assign him the support user role manually.
Is there any way that the new user is assigned the additional role of support user automatically?

    Regards

    Hello Saxena,

    Happy Holidays!

For the new user registration, it looks like you want them to be both “student” roles and “support user” roles when they sign up. Your default role in WordPress “Settings” for “New User Default Role” is currently your “student” role. In order to make new registrants both a “student” and a “support user”, you can create a new role called “student support user”, and enable all capabilities from both “student” and “support user” for this new role. Use the “user role editor” from the “Users” section of your WordPress settings to accomplish this.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Melliesou,

    I did what you suggested.
I created a new “student support user” and assigned all the roles of “student” and “support user”. I changed the default user role in wordpress admin panel to “student support user”.
But still when a new user registers, he is getting the default role as “participant, customer”. He is not assigned the “student support user” role automatically. I have to do it manually.

    Can you please help again?

    Hello Saxena,

Just want to clarify what the “subtext” name is for your combined user? In the role Editor, you will see “student support user” and then following that, you will see another word in brackets after that like “(wpas_student_support_user)” or a name that is similar. If you copy that name exactly without the brackets into the Tickets -> SETTINGS -> REGISTRATION -> “Default Role For New Users” box. Then that should achieve what you are looking for. Be sure to remember the value that is already in the box in case there is an input error and you need to revert that value.

If doing the above does not solve the issue, we can assist further after seeing some screenshots of the settings and roles.
