    Hi,
I am facing a peculiar problem. My site is an online teaching site where user has to register and login to get access to the course contents and other facilities. But the same login id and password is not working with Awesome Support.
I am using the free version. Can somebody help me with this?
    Regards
    Saxena

    Hi:

Is there an error message being shown or is the login screen just refreshing?

The user id and password being used is the same one set for the user in the WordPress user profile screen?

    Thanks.

    Hi:

That message means that your user is logged in but they don’t have the permissions to create tickets.

You can give your existing users the rights to open tickets – please see this section of our documentation: https://getawesomesupport.com/documentation/awesome-support/admin-handling-existing-users-after-installation/

    Thanks.

    Hi,
Presently, I have given “student” as a role to all my users as they are only students.
I have also downloaded and installed the free version of User Role Manager. The plugin does permit me to allow additional role to the user as Support User but it does not have any option to give different following capabilities.
    view_ticket
    create_ticket
    close_ticket
    reply_ticket
    attach_files
Does the plugin automatically assign these capabilities to the user?
    Please help.
    Regards

    Hi:

The capabilities are assigned to a user role. We create the SUPPORT USER role that you can give to your users. But if you already have the student role assigned to your users, you just need to assign those five capabilities to the student role.

The user role editor (or any other role editor) should allow you to assign those capabilities to your student role.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Even after setting additional role as support user for the student in User Role Manager, it is not assigning the additional role to the student user. After I manually added the role as support user, after login it does not give me the error that “you are not allowed to create support ticket”. But again even after login and clicking on create support ticket, it again opens the login/register form of Awesome Support. This form does not accept the login id and password that was created by the student user.
    Can you please help me.

    Hi:

Maybe you should show us from screen shots of what you’re doing with the student role in the user role editor plugin. Can you show us the screen shot with the capabilities you’ve assigned to that role?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I don’t have any option in this forum to upload the screen shots.
How can I send you the screen shots?

    Hi:

You can store it on a cloud drive like dropbox or onedrive and post the link is one way to do it.

    Thanks.

    Hi:

Those links are being reported as invalid or not public. You might want to verify that the permissions are public so we can see them.

    Thanks.

    Hi:

Unfortunately, adding the additional role the way you did will not really work. You need to add the 5 capabilities we gave you before directly to the STUDENT role. WordPress capabilities are different than roles. They are related but not the same.

So please use the user role editor plugin to add the 5 capabilities direct to the STUDENT role.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
But how to do that as plugin is giving me only those options as shown in the screen shot.

    Hi,
I have added the capabilities to the user Student.
Let me check and get back to you.
