Login page doesn’t work: redirect_to=/wp-admin/ – help!

Ok, MAJOR issue on a new install of WP 2.1.3 I just uploaded a few days ago. I’m the only user thus far, and yet tonight when I tried to access wp-admin, via:
it redirected here:
https://www.url.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fwp-admin%2FYes, WP is in my root directory of public_html. I’m the only user and I know for a fact the login info wasn’t changed… and what’s worse, when I clicked “forgot password” just to check, it never sent any information.
Am I completely locked out of my own blog?
Why is this redirect happening? There’s nothing to my knowledge in .htaccess to cause it.
Advice is urgently appreciated. thank you.
