• I’m managing a site for a nonprofit (link), and two problems have cropped up as the site has been built up:

    1. Logins always redirect to the home page.

The site has a number of pages that are restricted to paying members (we use Paid Memberships Pro). If a user goes directly to one of these pages, they will see a prompt to log in or register, like this:

    Screenshot of a restricted page.

Ideally, the user should return to the now-unlocked page after logging in. I’ve tried customizing redirection and setting customer user links to make this happen, but nothing seems to work. Instead, the user always redirects back to the home page.

    2. Login pages aren’t themed when users try to log in to view specific pages.

On my group’s site, there are two ways users can log in: through a Buddypress widget on the home page or in the main menu, like this:

Or by logging in through a specific page with restricted access.

Logging in through a Buddypress widget works as expected. Logging in through a restricted page, however, passes through to the default WordPress login. Attempting to log in on this page doesn’t work on the first attempt. The second attempt works but redirects to the home page.

    So, what do you think?

It sounds like you’re using multiple plugins that all conflict with login and redirection. Unfortunately, troubleshooting such a situation is beyond the scope of this forum.
