Hello. Sorry if the questions seem like we missed something in your documentation. We did parse it but did not see our answers.

We have installed the basic plugin from the codex. Set up the forms. All that went fine.

Our goal is to use the plugin in a similar fashion to the WP intranet plugin (which has no options hence we are not using it. So this is the order we would like for someone landing on the main url:

    1. They land on the url, which is a landing page which we would have a login form and a registration form.
    2. Assuming they are already approved they login, and are redirected to the main page of the website, which displays the homepage content, and website menu.

We are running into a logic problem. When they log in they are instead landing on a webpage that states:

“You are already logged in. Log out?”

Note, we do not want the users to go to the wp dash or have access to it. We simply want them to go to the actual website. Akin to say a simple intranet.

Do we need to activate the membership or content restriction modules? Or is something more needed? It seems like it should be simple: you land on a login page, you log in, and you land on the website home with the menu. Instead when they log in they are landing on a page that states you are already logged in. Log out?

    Thank you.

We realize that what we are not seeing in the “Login Form” edit panel is a setting that allows us to chose the page to which we wish to redirect the user on a successful login.

As the root url of the website is where we have the shortcodes for the registration and signup (so the root url is essentially a landing page), upon successful login we need the user to automatically port to the front side of the site with the content and menu. This should be accomplished by a setting I would think but we cannot find it in the Login Form edit panel.

    Thanks

    Hi @maxcom,

You can set up login and logout redirection using the free version of the plugin. Please check this documentation: https://docs.wpuserregistration.com/docs/how-to-show-login-form/#0-toc-title. You can use the Gutenberg Blocks method to add a login form and set the redirection links as needed.

Thank you. This is an premium theme and elementor website and does not use gutenberg.

We did find the solution. We are using the shortcode to insert the login form into a custom styled page. At the bottom of your link we spotted a link:

You can redirect users to specific page after they login. For this, visit this link.

And this held the answer! One has to add the redirect url to the shortcode:

    [user_registration_login redirect_url=”https://thewebsiteurl.com/the pageslug/”]

Respectfully, this should be one of the optional settings in the Login Form edit panel.

However, we appreciate the prompt responses to our questions. So a big Thank You!

    Hi @maxcom,

Thank you for reaching out and for your patience. I’m glad to hear that you found the solution by using the shortcode with the redirect_url parameter.

I appreciate your feedback regarding the optional Login Form edit panel settings. We will consider this for future updates to make it more user-friendly.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. ??
