Login key invalid on password reset

    PM Pro Version: 2.12.6
    WP Version: 6.4.2

    When users attempt to reset their passwords from the frontend, which uses the login block from pmpro, it results in a “reset password key is invalid”. There is no issue when the admin accesses the wp login directly and resets his password. A user however is redirected from the wp login to the frontend and still gets the error. Latest version of PMPro which is installed was supposed to address the logic for this? Still doesn’t work for us though.

    Would you mind explaining in detailed steps, how I may replicate this issue? Are your users resetting their password through the default wp-login.php or the assigned frontend Log In page set in Paid Memberships Pro?

    Hi Andrew,
    Our users are logging in via the assigned frontend login set in Paid Memberships Pro . Since I do not allow “subscribers” access to the dashboard, any attempt to use the wp-login redirects them through the frontend as a result.

    Reproduce Error:

    Visit assigned login page.
    Click on “Lost Password”
    Enter user name or email address and click on get new password
    Check email for a link to reset the password
    Click on link in email (or copy paste) and the resulting page provides message “Your reset password key is invalid.”

    In all instances the users are getting the email and clicking the link. It’s at that point the error message appears.

    As mentioned, I as admin can access the dashboard and can use the wp-login to reset my password, but a “contributor” is redirected from wp-login to the assigned front end login when they attempt to do the same thing, which results in the error message.

    You may use the default /wp-login.php path for logging in as this never is redirected from our end as a failsafe.

    Please can you provide me with your Site Health Information. To retrieve this information, please navigate to Tools > Site Health > Select the info option at the top of the screen > Copy Information to Clipboard and include this in your next reply.

    I’d like to see if there is any other plugins that may be interfering here as I haven’t been able to replicate it on my own site.
