Login form doesn’t show

The short code [user-registration-login] does not create a visible login. The short code has been entered while in edit mode by typing. The edit mode shows a frame with text “[/] Shortcode” and wihin this frame another frame showing the actual code. In view page mode I expect the page to show an editable login form but it only shows the shortcode. What is the matter?
