Hi, today our web host said that our site using your PRO and basic Event Calendar plugins was showing high activity. I tried to login and make sure there were no updates needed, and I could not log in. After trying several things, I removed “the-event-calendar” plugin and WP let me in. I downloaded the latest version, tried to upload it, and got an error uploading due to the 2 Russian language files in the plugin folder.

Anyone else have something like this today (09/30/15)?

Is there a fix? Currently our Events are MIA without that plugin.

More on this, when I tried to upload the most recent “the-event-calendar” plugin folder noted above, the error I get in FTP is:

    Could not upload “the-event-calendar-ru-RU.po”.
    Error -135: socket write error

our site using your PRO and basic Event Calendar plugins was showing high activity

Sorry to hear about this stuff @rogeratbing! Can you elaborate on what “high activity” means? Also, can you ask your host to provide some more information based on your site’s logs; e.g. are there specific lines of code in our software that are causing the problems with your host?

You should be able to add .po files and such without any issue, so it sounds like there might be a deeper problem with your server based on that “socket write error” notice and the behavior you described in your first post…

Let us know what you find!

    Thanks,
    George

Thanks George. There was something going on with the plugin, since it was stopping the site from working, but it could have had something to do with our host’s safeguards. There was another site on that shared server hit by issues, and it seems that may have put our site on ‘lockdown’ or something. Odd, but working now. Thanks!

Thanks for the update! I’m glad things are working for now.

    Cheers!
