• Hello!

I’m running into an issue with user logins.

When a user tries to login, the following message appears:

WARNING: hash_equals(): Expected known_string to be a string, null given in /home3/*name*/public_html/shopmrhinteriors.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 2042

(note, i removed the account name and replaced it with *name*).

I have WooCommerce (newest version) installed – and it was working fine prior to the latest wordpress update. After some research, it was suggested it might be some plugins but i disabled everything and turned each one back on one by one, and it didnt happen until the woocommerce plugin came back on. However, from what I understand, the ‘pluggable.php’ file is related to WordPress and not WooCommerce.

I have ensured the login name and passwords are correct – even deleting test accounts and trying to reinstate them, using the system generated PW and I still get the error.

Any help would be amazing – i’m lost at this point.

Another note – this error appears only for a few seconds, then produces a long issue (long name/pw incorrect)

Hi, wondering if you found an answer to this as I’m having the same issue.

still no answer for this error? currently having this issue.
    Thanks

It was a plugin – specifically one for the WP Login Page. I don’t manage that site anymore, but if I remember correctly, it was a plugin that added the Google reCAPTCHA to that login page.

Once I disabled that, everything was fine.

    Hope that helps!
