The plugin is great but I do have a suggestion for an important enhancement. With the Login Access feature, I expected the whitelisted IPs to be stored in the .htaccess file, but they’re not. I chatted with a support rep but they were unable to tell me where the IPs get stored. So what happens when my IP address changes? How am I supposed to login to the site and whitelist my new IP in the plugin if I’m locked out? The support rep suggested that I’d have to disable the plugin from the database or contact support for assistance. But there should be a better solution for this. The whitelisted IPs should be stored somewhere that’s readily available from Site Tools or File Manager so that an admin can easily update their own IP when needed. Please consider this for a future enhancement. Thanks!

    Hello

There is a WP-CLI command you can use in such cases. It allows you to list and modify the allowed IP Addresses without disabling the plugin.

    The command is:

    wp sg login-access

You can see more examples of its usage from the plugin readme.

In case you are not familiar with wp-cli you can check our tutorial for the case at: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/wp-cli/

    Best Regards,

Thank you. WP-CLI and SSH are both new to me. I’ll have to learn more about them. But I still think it would be very helpful if there was an easier way to edit these IPs from Site Tools or File Manager.

    Thanks,
    Scott
