Hi @simo2010, thanks for your message.

The Google Authenticator app does have the slight downside of not saving codes across devices meaning you have to use recovery codes if your device is lost or don’t have access to your desktop PC where you originally set up 2FA at the time. This goes for all sites, not just your Wordfence 2FA logins.

For this reason I personally use Authy, as I can access my 2FA codes again even if I lose/change my original device. I believe some password managers now offer the ability to save 2FA information.

Please note that changing apps in many cases will require you to login, disable 2FA and then re-enable it to scan the QR code again using your new app.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi @wfpeter
Thank you for your quick answer. My question was related to the login screen on google android device where once you enter the credentials an error message is generated and the box to enter the authentication code is not displayed.
When i login with my credential wordpress response error. ( i have a screenshot)
    best regard

Hi @wfpeter, try to explain myself better. If I access my site from a desktop pc after logging in, I am promptly asked to enter the code. If I access from the google browser with the phone (android) after entering the username and password, a wordpress show message “an error wa encountered while triying to authenticate” appears and the window to enter the code does not appear.
    thanks

Hi @simo2010, my apologies – I understand now.

With your Android device are you using the Chrome browser as default? I have just tried to access my website for the first time from my phone and was presented with the 2FA box after inputting my username and password.

The 2FA box usually fails to show in this way with a Javascript conflict, but it does seem unusual that it’s working on your desktop PC, so may rule this out. On your Android device, does it make a difference to try incognito/private browsing to log in, or when clicking “Desktop Site” in Chrome after clicking the 3 dots at the top?

If those don’t work or help, it would be worth disabling ALL plugins EXCEPT for Wordfence and trying again. There could be a plugin that’s loading its Javascript improperly, or failing, on mobile devices to cause the issue.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
