LogicException happening with spl_autoload_register()

Uncaught exception 'LogicException' with message 'Class wp_atom_server could not be loaded'

I’ve seen a few answers, but they didn’t seem “right.” Am I not supposed to use an autoloder in WP?

How should I be using classes in WordPress 3.9.x?
