• Resolved EJF

I have been trying to solve this problem for days while reading WordPress instructions and numerous other blogs with instructions.
Would appreciate some suggestions from experts.
My blog was setup with Apache, Xampp, Localhost on my computer and seems to work fine.
After following instructions on moving my blog to a remote server with a domain name of oleanrodandgunclub.org, there seems to be a problem.
Logging in to oleanrodandgunclub.org produces “Index of” along with a list of files.
My wp-config file has database and user names exactly as shown on my sql database page.

  • Try adding
    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm
to the top of your root .htaccess file.

    Thanks for the reply.
I typed it exactly as you stated and now I get “Internal Server Error”.
I have used the instructions to transfer my site from “https://blog.triphp.com/how-to/how-to-move-wordpress-to-a-new-server-or-host.html” and have done it 3 times to be sure I did it right with the same result.
I notice there are some differences in file structure between my localhost server and my remote server.
At this point, I am so confused, I do not know what to do.
I will try whatever you suggest.

Is this a new or existing .htaccess file?

I presume it was uploaded with the rest of the files from my localhost site because it looks identicle.

You might want to have a word with your hosts about this and ask them to turn DirectoryIndexing off.

OK. I will do that and report back.

    Just talked to my host.
He looked at my file structure and noted some errors, like the wordpress file being in the wrong folder.
I will make the corrections he suggested and close this topic as being resolved.
Thank you for taking the time to help this old-timer.

No problem. Glad to hear that you got it sorted. ??
