• I logged in first as Admin with the password given in the readme file. Works fine. I changed this password in the Admin profile, though, and now I can’t log in. I had the password sent back to me to make sure it had been changed, and it was, but when I go to log in, WordPress doesn’t do anything. What is going on here?

  • What version of WP are you working with? If you have an earlier version, then the password will not be encrypted, and you can use, for example, PHPMyAdmin on your web server and go into your database and enter a new password if necessary.
Alternatively, you could try logging back in with the original password given to you to see if that works.
If neither of these work, then I daresay the Sushubh Effect has happened, and you may need to re-install, but that probably won’t have to happen.
Let us know about your progress.

one way you can kinda get around it (b/c I tried)
is to switch back to the old version of wp-login.php (1.0) (works with unencrypted password)
and don’t use the newer version one (works with encrypted password)
and change your password from phpMyAdmin at back-end
That works like a charm for me

That did not work for me can you help?

    djenyns,
didn’t you notice this is a year old post? (which means it was definitely another WP version!)

just clicking down the list to see what works.

    I FOUND THIS:
    https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/

    worked like a charm.

    It does, yes ??
