• This is easy, but it is driving me nuts because I cant figure it out. I have logged in to my wordpress several times, even uploaded an mp3 (go me!). I dont know if i forgot how to log in, or if something changed on me, but i cannot figure it out. I have tried every possible combination of password and name, I have even clicked on the “forgot your password?” and NONE of my emails are in the database. Do i need to delete my account and start again? If so, how do I do that. I just have no idea what to do, I’m at a loss.

I also dont know what version i am using, if that is important, point me in the direction of finding that information and I’ll let you know.

I am an absolute beginner when it comes to this. Thanks

  • hi, if you post the url of your blog its easy for someone to check the source and tell you which version you are using.
I’m assuming you are running a self hosted blog and not with wordpress.com.

its https://www.kwmusicroom.com and its hosted on bluehost, not wordpress. i can sign into bluehost just fine.

    Hi again,
    you are using version 2.5.1
you may be able to get your password with this emergency script.

does your browser have password memory, you may still have user and password stored, it happens,
    hope it works out.

thanks for the link, i downloaded it, unzipped it, uploaded it, but when i went to the website that they have in step 4, there were no directions.

    https://www.yourdomain.com/emergency.php

do you know anything about that?

also the program seems to only support 2.0 2.2 and 2.3, would it still support 2.5.1?

    aww cmon…

Open https://www.yourdomain.com/emergency.php in your favorite browser.

is the name of your site “yourdomain.com” ???

You are supposed to put YOUR domain name in there. Or whatever the url is to where YOU uploaded it to…

also the program seems to only support 2.0 2.2 and 2.3, would it still support 2.5.1?

Did you read ANY of the comments??? Had you, you would see that countless people have used my script on 2.5.1 installs.

Hi again kelsi, sorry you had problems, but its really the best way to recover your password, just make sure to upload it correctly and just a reminder to make sure you remove it from your server when you’ve finished.i’m sure it will work out ok.
Its a great script and I know its fine with 2.5.1
    good luck.

Hi inurock, there is no helpline but I’m sure you can find the answers on this forum it always helps to include a link to your site, and the version you are using.
have you tried the lost password link on your login page.
    mike.
PS. Godaddy helpline would be unable to give you your wordpress user name and/or/passord.
