My directory requires users to login in order to add listings, however a signed in user gets error message, “We are unable to add your listing at this time. Please try again later.”

Listings are free for my site, so I’ve turned off the pay module. I’ve made unique slugs. I’ve tried signing in and adding listings on multiple test accounts from multiple computers, with no problem.

However, when I have had him sign in and add listings on different browsers and computers, he still gets the error message.

I put his listing up from my admin account and when he signed in to view it, he received an error message: “Must be signed in to view listing”

    What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Liz

    Hi APCCLiz,

I’m not sure why this would be happening, as we login and post to our test sites all the time, so it’s not a general problem that I’m aware of.

Let’s start with some basic questions.
    – What version of WP are you running?
    – What version of BD do you have installed?
    – Have you tried checking for a plugin conflict, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

    Hi there,
    Thanks for the timely response!

    To answer your questions:
    – Running WordPress 3.5.1.
    – BD version 3.0.2
    – I checked for plugin conflict and found that our membership plugin MagicMembers is the problem – however, there is only ONE user who has complained about not being able to add a listing. Why is it that this conflict doesn’t affect all users trying to add listings? Is there any way I can override this conflict?? We need a directory, but our entire site depends on Magicmembers so that plugin takes priority, unfortunately…

    Thanks,
    Liz

    Hi Liz,

Since MagicMembers is a private plugin, we would have no way to figure out how this conflict came about or how to fix it without some access to your site. I can’t say why it’s happening at this point or why it only affected one user.

We would also need a reproducible way to demonstrate the issue so we can figure out where the conflict lies. It sounds like you have been able to do that, yes?

If you want, we can dig deeper but we would need admin credentials, which you can send here:

Please include a link to this forum thread AND the steps you use to demonstrate it.
